why ram slots 2 and 4 - Unable to control lighting on RAM in third and fourth slots - ... omg slot 888

If your PC/laptop’s motherboard has a maximum RAM capacity of 16GB, and you have only 4 RAM slots, those RAM slots will probably accept only 4GB RAM sticks.

For example, if you have two RAM sticks and four slots, you typically need to install the sticks in slots 1 and 3 or slots 2 and 4 to enable dual-channel mode.

So I have 16GB RAM. After upgrading to Windows 10 however it says I only have 8GB. When I look in task manager it seems to know I have 16GB but for some reason only using 8Gb of it and for slots used it says 2 of 4 when I'm using all 4 RAM slots. I'm not techy at all but if somebody could explain to me why this is it would be appreciated. If it is something like just a broken RAM stick then that's easy to fix but I don't want to go out and buy a bunch of new RAM if it's a different issue.

I have a somewhat old motherboard with 64 gigs of ram, and i was talking about this on tf2, and someone called me a shitter for only having 2 ram slots and said he had 4 slots or RGB ram and a 5090.
